Research Assistanceships are available for students who meet the requirements of both the University of South Florida Graduate School and the USF SiC Research Program. For general requirements for specific degrees, please see below.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

For students to pursue a PhD in the SiC group, they must have completed their MS degree (thesis required) first. Once enrolled in the PhD program, it is expected that the student will complete his/her degree within a four year period. Students who have not completed their degree requirements by that time will be subject to faculty review of their progress with a determination of funding extension made at that time. Provided that solid progress is being made towards the completion of the PhD, funding, if available, will be continued.

Master of Science (MS)

For students to pursue an MS in the SiC group, a thesis is required, and once enrolled in the MS program, it is expected that the student will complete his/her degree within a two year period. Students who have not completed their degree requirements by that time will be subject to faculty review of their progress with a determination of funding extension made at that time. Provided that solid progress is being made towards the completion of the MS, funding, if available, will be continued.

Bachelor of Science (BS)
